 is in the process of developing appropriate methodology and tools to assess the commitment of export houses, in establishing an approach towards accountability that embeds transparent and responsible business practices. A comprehensive understanding of the underlying links between accountability, strategy and performance will be crucial element of the assessment process. The export houses performance and progress will be measured by their commitment towards: 

·      Adherence to non-discriminatory and sound personnel rules, such as gender bias, anti-racism, anti-sexism and anti-orientation rules, good health and safety provisions and trade union rights;  

·      Learning that enables them to evolve strategies aligned to civil society’s wider interest and needs; 

·      Establishing governance and management processes that deliver against these strategies; and  

·      Providing public disclosure that delivers credible and material information to enable stakeholders to take informed decisions and actions. 

Adherence to responsible business practices and performance will be assessed on the basis of key areas, such as stakeholders’ engagement, strategy, good corporate governance, performance management, public disclosure and assurance of continuity.
